Police and Fire Commission Meeting

Present were: Chair Scott Scheife, Sam Schneider, Larry Owen, Jack Daniels, Chris Yatchak and Police Chief Patrick Merten and Lt. Daniel Mikulec. Lt. Daniel Mikulec left the meeting after his interview. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: MOTION: (Sam/Jack) To Approve Minutes March 11, 2025. Roll call vote motion was carried unanimously at (1:02) p.m. NEW BUSINESS: A. Conduct Interviews of Candidates for Officer Positions. B. Conduct Interviews of Candidates for Captain Positions. MOTION: (Jack/Sam) To convene into closed session at (1:02) p.m. and include the Police & Fire Commission with Police Chief Patrick Merten and LT. Daniel Mikulec. Roll call vote carried unanimously. The Police & Fire Commission may convene into closed session per Wis. Stats. §19.85 (1) (c) considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility and may convene into open session to take such action as it deems appropriate. MOTION: (Jack/Sam) To convene into open session at (2:12) p.m. Roll call vote carried unanimously. The Police & Fire Commission reconvened into open session. MOTION: (Chris/Sam) To add Darryl Thornton to the eligibility list for Police Officer that was created March 11, 2025. Roll call vote carried unanimously at (2:12) p.m. MOTION: (Chris/Sam) To convene into closed session at (2:21) p.m. and include the Police & Fire Commission with Police Chief Patrick Merten and LT.
